Record a video of yourself that explains your dream and how Chip can be a runway to help make it happen. Why is Chip doing this?
Chip is passionate about being a runway for people—a starting place to help their dreams take off. His book, Capital Gaines, details some of his earliest dreams and goals, and how others were a runway for him. Some of his dreams worked out and some didn’t, but without the people who believed in him, he knows he wouldn’t be where he is today. Chip wants to help your dreams take off, and this is his way of doing just that.

What dream should I enter?
No dream is too big, but be as specific, creative, and outside-the-box as possible when pitching your idea and communicating what you’ll do to make it happen if Chip chooses you. Detail what you’ve done to work toward this dream leading up to this point and why you’re passionate about it. The more thought-out your dream is, the better your chances of being chosen as a finalist will be!

How long does this contest go?
Contest lasts from September 4th at 10:00 am CT to September 10th at 11:59 p.m. CT. No additional video entries will be accepted after that time. Finalists will be contacted on or about September 17th.

Does my video need to be super awesome and fancy?
It can be as produced or as simple as you’d like to make it, as long as the video is under 2 minutes. A simple video shot with a cell phone will work. Please note that if your video is over 2 minutes long, it will be excluded from the contest.

How many entries will win?
There will be two final grand prize winners, one for each night of the Silobration Concert. Chip will select however many finalists he sees fit to fly to Waco, Texas (flight and hotel paid) for a final interview on stage at the Silobration Concerts. Final winner selections will be made right there on stage.

What exactly happens if I am selected as a finalist?
If you are selected by Chip as a finalist, you will be flown to Waco, Texas on October 19th and will stay the weekend. Flight and hotel will be paid for. All selected finalists must be willing and able to fly to Waco to participate in final interviews. Chip will be bringing all finalists on stage one at a time to do their final interviews before he selects his grand prize winner each night. Chip will then make a financial investment in your dream, based on what you specifically asked for in your submission. This will be a one-time gift.

What if I’m selected as a finalist, but I can’t come down to Waco for Silobration?
All chosen finalists must be willing and able to travel to Waco, Texas for Silobration in order to interview on stage with Chip. Flight and hotel will be arranged and paid for. If your video is chosen, but you cannot make the event, you will be disqualified from the contest.

Are there any dreams that cannot be entered?
We are not able to accept certain categories of submissions. Examples of this are medical procedures and leisure vacations. See terms and conditions page for additional information on what can and cannot be entered. Additionally, although they wish they could, Chip and Joanna will not be able to travel or render design/renovation services as part of your dream.

What happens if I am not selected as a finalist?
After the contest is over, video entries will be removed from the chip-starter site permanently. You will no longer be able to access your video from our site.

Is this a crowdfunding site?
This is not a crowdfunding site.

How will the winners be announced?
The grand prize winners will be announced at the Silobration Concerts on the evenings of October 19th and October 20th. One winner will be announced per night. You will be notified that you have been selected as a finalist with both a phone call and an email from a member of our creative team.

Will this contest screen entries?
Yes, we reserve the right to throw out any entries that don’t meet all terms and conditions or that are deemed inappropriate.

Can everyone see my entry?
Yes, after your video is entered there is a possibility that it will be public on the Chipstarter site. There is no way to have a private entry. However, depending on the number of entries we receive, yours may or may not be displayed on the site. If you cannot find your entry on the site, it has still been entered into the contest (unless you receive an email informing you that your entry did not meet the terms and conditions). All entries that are displayed on the site will have the ability to be publicly shared to social media platforms.

What if I have a business partner?
Business partners are allowed to enter together! However, if a team entry is chosen as a finalist, we will only be able to arrange 2 roundtrip flights and one hotel room. It will be up to you to cover anything further if you would like to bring more members of your team to the Waco event.

Can I enter more than once?
No. There will only be one submission allowed per person or per team. If you enter with a partner or team, that will count as the whole team’s one entry. In other words, you may only appear in one entry video.

Is there a minimum age for entries?
You must be at least 13 years of age to enter. Entrants under 18 must submit a parental consent form.

Is this open to US residents only?
Yes. We are only able to accept entries from US residents. Hawaii and Alaska are included.

How will we know who won if we aren’t going to Silobration?
The Monday following Silobration, October 22nd, the winning entries will be temporarily posted on this website.

Could a non-profit enter?
You may enter on behalf of a non-profit, but please note that only specific requests and dreams will be considered. Requests for general donations to the non-profit will not be considered.

What if I need help with my entry?
If you require any assistance with your entry, you can contact our customer service team at shop@magnoliamarket.com or (833) 843-0590. They are happy to help, but will be unable to submit entries on your behalf.
